Irish My Way

I have to admit I haven't had time this year to pull together an Irish table in time so I'm linking back to last years post.

Irish I'm not but today's table is my rendition of an simple Irish Tablescape with a little chuckle thrown in. May we all have the "luck of the Irish" at least for one day.

Yes I know the Irish don't eat Hostess Snowballs on St. Patrick's day but I just couldn't resist when I saw them in the store in all their green finery and they look so upscale on a sliver platter.  I am a lover of all things junk food and Snowballs are no exception.  They may not be served at an Irish meal but I plan to have one or maybe two sometime today. Also a tribute to one of my favorite Irish authors Maeve Binchy.

My under plate is Lenox Summer Greetings and was the only green plates that I have.  I picked up four place settings at a thrift shop in South Carolina for only $10. The serving plate is Bella Lux.

The stemware is from Pier 1 and the beautiful silver flatware is Maxfield Hotel from Pottery Barn. The table runner I found yesterday at Salvation Army for $1.99, its Liz Claiborne home style.

May the luck of the Irish be with everyone as we join
and

Those Snowballs do look upscale on a silver platter. Your tablescape looks springy and perfect for St. Patrick's Day. When you actualy use a tablescape like this, do you take away the top plate and eat on the bottom one or do you eat on stacked plates?? I've always wondered about that.

I love those green plates. I would enjoy having something like that here. I love green.

And the snowballs were just perfect in my book! I haven't seen hostess cakes around here in years. I thought that they had stopped making them.

Now, of course, I'm hungry for a snowball.

And BTW, your pictures look fantastic at the top.

I remember 'Snow Balls,' but I didn't know that they were still made. Makes me smile. Some great finds contributed to your lovely tablescape. Thank you for sharing your charming design and for stopping by my post. Cherry Kay

I just saw those green snowballs at Rett's. I don't think we have them here in NY!
I love Maeve Binchy's books. I have read them all.
