Christmas Tree Table

We won't be at home for Christmas this year so simplicity is the name of the game for decorating.

When I was in Florida  a couple of weeks ago we were discussing real tree vs artificial and in that conversation it was suggested that I put up a small real tabletop tree this year.  I'm loving the look and smell of this little beauty, I set four place settings around it just for show, obviously no one would be able to sit there and eat without getting an eye poked out by the branches.

I picked up the chair covers at the dollar store to add a little extra color to the table setting.

The Believe bowls were a steal at 90 cents each on a clearance after Christmas last year and the napkins (actually dish towels) were from the dollar store.  The water glasses were a promo years ago from Arby's.  My friend Sharon and I were laughing the other night about how many trips we made to Arby's to get the glasses.  They would only let you buy one per person so we would hit two or three Arby's locations on a Friday night.  We even talked some others into ordering a glass for us with their orders. The twig chargers are from Nell Hill's.

Without giving any thought to it I guess I'm working on a Santa theme Christmas at the house this year.  I'll post the simple outdoor decoration I have on my front porch later this week.

Oh my goodness, I remember those Arby's glasses. I think I may have even gotten a few myself. Your tabletop tree is beautiful. What a great idea, especially if you won't be home this year to entertain. Very pretty, Char.

The tree is fabulous. I had to laugh at the comment that you can't eat at the table. LOL I also do a table top in my dining room. Your chair covers are adorable, can't believe they came from the dollar store. Very festive:)

Oh- I had to laugh! I STILL have my Holly glasses from Arbys! I had service for TWELVE! Mine were all the stemware...but one year they had cups too...so I bought all those, too. I always made my hubby go in and get one and then I would follow through the drive thru for my own. Great minds do think alike, don' they? xo Diana

Love this table tree. I don't care if I did get an eye poke, I would love sitting there, eating and enjoying the fragrance of the tree. Love you thrifty items for the tablescape. Thanks for sharing, Ginger

I love your table! I still need to do a tree in our screend porch, and I'd thought about this idea, but I'm not sure how to hold it down. And the "crystal"--I have the holly of this fine line of crystal, and guess what, we use it every year! And I often see it at GW and pick up more--why, I don't know, becuase they certainly are not fragile! LOL. But I love my glasses--and the antics we all went through to get them! Very pretty!

I would risk the eye poke to sit there! Plus,no one could see me shoveling it in. Ha.

I love your idea, and it's festive and pretty. I would love some of those seat covers. I need to either make some or buy some for next year.

Hello Miss Char...

My friend, I think your table top Christmas tree is FABULOUS!!! It's sooo pretty and I bet it's so much fun and very festive to dine at that pretty table! I love your Christmas place settings. What a great deal you got on the pretty "BELIEVE" dishes...and I love the linens with the pretty red ball fringe! I have the very same stemware with the pretty white trees. I bought mine at a yard sale..a set of 24...different sizes. I didn't realize that Arby's was giving them away for a promo! SWEET!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful Christmas with us, dear lady! I pray that you will have safe travels this Christmas and a wonderfully blessed holiday!

Warmest Christmas Wishes,
Chari
