2010 Bloopers

Although I've had many bloopers since restarting my blog I had the good sense to destroy the evidence with the exception of a couple of picture. I'm participating in Susan's Between Naps on the Porch Blooper day so here are a couple of mine.

This first one wasn't a blooper so much as a disaster.  We were having a family gathering and I needed a rather large corn bread to be served.  I used one of my extra large cake pans and the cornbread baked beautifully and was going to be picture perfect. It was when I tried to turn it out of the pan to cool that this happened...notice the empty glass next to the disaster, I'm sure you can guess what I had been drinking after I turned the pan over. BTW what you don't see in this picture is our dog Maggie gobbling up all the cornbread that missed the counter and hit the floor.

Oh and this one I didn't even notice until a friend wanted to post it for me on Tabletop Thursday.  I went over the picture and realized that I had never finished the flatware.  In my zeal to get a table together I had forgotten to place the teaspoon next to the knife.  Needless to say this tablescape never hit blogland.

Well that's all I have for 2010 but I'm sure that 2011 will bring many, many, many, many more bloopers.

There are plenty of Blogland Bloopers over at

I'm sure your cornbread still tasted good. I know you about died when it crumbled like that!

I love your tablescape. Maybe you can duplicate it for an occasion this spring.

Life happens, doesn't it? (I LOVE your pink goblets!) I had the good sense to destroy the evidence, too -- but I probably would have saved some if I'd known we were going to have a party! Happy New Year to you and yours!

I laughed out loud when I looked at your cornbread. I hope you were able to salvage the pieces, I'm sure it was still delicious. When all else fails, drink wine!
Happy New Year to you.

The first one...a disaster indeed! I'll just bet you were horrified...especially because it had looked so pretty in the pan!!! Now the second one...not a disaster at all. There are many dinners for which a teaspoon is not necessary, and this might have been one of those occasions! :-) Happy New Year to you and yours!

Sorry...I hit the wrong button for my URL, so you probably got something really crazy for the comment above. :-( MY blooper! :-)

Too funny! I will be taking more pictures of my bloopers this year and relishing them more as I save them for a bigger post next New Years! That corn bread would have make good cornbread stuffing! Love the missing spoon. That one I would have cropped the missing spoon right out! The bloopers have been a lot of fun. I am going to visit all of them.

Char I remember the cornbread debacle and it still makes me laugh when I see the empty wine glass in the photo!

Char, if I recall you saved the day with the cornbread after all. Your second picture with tablescape is indeed gorgeous. I look forward to your blog posts and most tables in 2011!
Happy New Year dear friend!

Hello Miss Char...

My friend, what a good sport you are to share your bloopers! Ohhh my...why is it that a cake or cornbread (in your case) never works out when company is coming? I certainly can sympathize, my friend! Now, as far as your beautiful tablescape goes...I think you should have posted it anyway...spoonless or not! It really is gorgeous!

Well my dear, I just wanted to congratulate you on your recent retirement! How excited you must be...I'm sooo very happy for you! Enjoy your days...and time, dear lady!

Warmest wishes and Happy New Year,
Chari @Happy To Design

Your blooper sounds like stuff I've made using salt instead of sugar by mistake...in banana bread!!! Ugh!

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Happy New Year! I'm sure the cornbread was delicious! One time when I made cornbread and flipped out of the pan it wasn't cooked in the middle - now that was a disaster! LOL!!!
