The last of Summer's Chintz

I didn't have any appropriate chargers or place mats so I used some
pastel raffia that I had picked up from our local Pottery Barn outlet
for next to nothing after Easter.  The silver is a pattern I've
been collecting  from Pottery Barn for the past few months,
its called Maxfield Hotel.  I love that each piece of a place setting
 is a different pattern.
I did this table for a group of friends recently.  The china is Summer Chintz and its one of my summer favorites.  It looks beautiful from Easter until the leaves start to change.  I picked the pieces up at a local antique store for $1 each.  I was in china heaven that day and I placed my treasures in the back of my car.
The pink bowl was a great find for next to nothing at Goodwill.
I served fresh rolls from the oven in it for this particular luncheon.

Unfortunately I didn't get a close up of the silver but on this
 single place setting you
can see that each piece is different.

The small dessert plates I used were a gift from my daughter.
She purchased several sets for me in the cute little holder
tied with a pink ribbon.  The napkins were made from
some leftover cotton fabric I had in my stash.

This is the last of summers tables, next week its on
to fall and more earthy tones.

I love looking at this tablescape. The only thing better would be sitting at one of the place settings. Such pretty dishes for a song. Nothing better than that!

What a find, Char...I had forgotten that you found that for $1 apiece. You lucky dish collector, you!
This is just a gorgeous table setting. I would hate to put food on it and mess it up! And the Raffia, how clever!
Move over, table setters....there's a new kid on the block! ;D

Hi Char, your china is so pretty--it's hard to believe someone gave that away! And I do love that silverware from Pottery Barn. It would be so interesting to have it on the table. Linda

I don't know that I could put away that beautiful chintz dinnerware just because summer was passing. It is so lovely. I've admired the hotel silver when in Pottery Barn. You must be so excited to have enough to use now...that's wonderful. Your tablescape is so pretty; I really like it. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

Love your Summer Chintz! What a pretty pattern! It looks great with the other pink elements, and I'm impressed you made the napkins. I always mean to try that.... Thank you for your lovely comments on my table. I'm glad to have found your blog!
