Peter and Charlotte

I pinned a simple bunny pattern off of Pinterest a few weeks ago for an Easter project.  Bunnies are one of my favorite collectibles and they just are hard to pass up this time of year. Simple Bunny Pattern.

Mine are made of a piece of drop-cloth that was left over from another project and were embellished a little.  This pattern is very simple, give it a try for a fun little project and embellish away.

Wish I knew how to add arrows (pointers) for this little guys picture, until I was showing him to my husband I didn't realize that I had literally created Peter Cottontail.  Get it????  The banner name I gave him was Peter and I made his tail from a ball of cotton still in the husk, thus Peter Cottontail. I'd like to say I did that on purpose but I'm just not that sharp.

His crown was made from a paper towel cardboard tube.  I ripped pieces of an old book, mod podged them on to the tube after cutting the top into peaks.  After the paper was dried I aged the crown a little and then embellished with some Martha Stewart glitter. He was then dressed out with a collar of burlap and an old skate key for his jewelry.

Same process for Miss Charlotte Cottontail.

Miss Charlotte has a Victorian collar with a cute pink heart attached.  She also has a real piece of raw cotton for a tail and is sporting a banner of scrabble pieces.  Her crown has small stars on the points and she has MS pink glitter to enhance her crown.

So there you have it, two cute little bunnies for spring that were made from scraps around the house using a Pinterest inspired pattern.

Both are just darling & I'm giggling at your unintended "Peter COTTON tail"! LOL

I sure hope Pinterest gets their TOS changed so we can use it safely.
It was a wonderful source of inspiration, as you have shown.

Hugs,
Rett

Yes, I DO get the Peter Cottontail! That's adorable and just plain perfect. I love the whole project. I just love pinterest. It's full of so many great ideas. Unlike you, I often can't get them to come to fruition so well.

Precious!!

How very cute Char AND creative! I love the individual charm you added to each. Man! I would LOVE to have my old skate key. I wonder if it's buried in some of my mother's old treasures? I doubt it. Where did you find yours? Great project Miss Char!
