The Last Breath of Summer

We have had an exceptionally hot summer here at home.  Our summer weather is not known for fits of 90 degree days, this summer was wicked and our yards and flowers have suffered.  Even with a $600 water bill delivered the other day for our summer survival kit for our yard things were looking pretty sad.

The weather has changed, cooler days are definitely moving in and the yard and flowers are bouncing back to their beauty only to be hit shortly by hard frosts.  This past Sunday as I left for church I noticed a very light haze of frost on the front yard.  Well as summer blooms fade to be replaced by mums and beautiful colors in the sugar maples I thought I would share a picture I snapped today of my bike which sits proudly on the west side of our home in its last of summer glory.

Char, this is just the cutest idea! I love that you actually took the time to paint an old bike and turn it into clever yard art! I can just see you changing what's in the basket from time to time.

Love it!
