I started with a larger book that was in an old box in the basement. After removing the cover (sorry book lovers everywhere) I actually sat one night watching Sara Richardson on TV and folded all the pages. I couldn't get the finished product to stay open because the spine was so stiff so I put a fabric ribbon around it and I really like the look. The small wicker flower pot was a find at SA for $.99.
This was a paperback that I had finished, I love the two sizes and different ribbons.
I picked this cement angel candle holder up at an antique store recently for $4.
The pears I picked up at the local floral wholesaler (thanks Kathy!)
This was such a fun project and so easy, give it a try I think you'll love the look.

Very pretty Char!
Hey there, visiting from Open House Party! The addition of the ribbon to the books adds a special touch! It hurts me to rip the covers off the books too!
Blessings!!
Char,
Lovely, indeed! Black, white and green is one of my favorite decor color combinations! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Fondly,
Pat
Beautiful!
So pretty. I love the ribbon you put with it.
Hi Char, Very pretty and unique! I also love the candleholder and your vignette. Thanks for joining my party this week.

Your display looks very nice!
These remind me of a craft I used to do with my grandmother that involved folding old Reader's Digest magazines. I only remember folding, not what we made!
Char.. loving that ribbon around the book. the pears are perfect! This is amazing.. many blessings, marlis
Hi Miss Char...
Oooh...I just adore this pretty vignette that you created with the folded books and pears! I'm not exactly sure why...but I have a "thing" for pears! Hehe! I just love the shape and color of them, I guess! Anyway, I think the pretty black checked ribbon that you used on the book looks sooo pretty with the green pears! The folded books truly are unique and would be fun to make. I remember making Christmas angels out of Readers Digest when I was a kid...do you remember that craft?
Thanks so much for sharing this awesome craft with us...and the beautiful vignette! I love it! I also wanted to thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my Tea Rose bedroom. I sooo enjoyed your visit and sweet note, my friend!
Warmest wishes,
Chari
OH SO CUTE! My son is having a book-themed wedding -- these would be cute as an additional decoration somewhere! I'm guessing you just folded each page in half toward the center? Love the ribbon!
i love this idea as a kitchen vignette, i could see doing it with a "not so great" cookbook.
I love this! I saw those folded books in your header yesterday, and this morning decided to check back and see if you had posted about them and I had missed it. I will definitely be copying this. I LOVE it.
Char,
That is so cool! It makes a great visual impact and it is so simple! Love how you put it with the granny smith apples, great color combos. Thanks for linking it up at Home Sweet Home!
Sherry
Char,
Sorry I guess those are pears! I need to slow down and look a little closer or get reading glasses! Which is very probable.

I was invited to an Art Gallery opening earlier this month. They had a lot of these books folded in a variety of different designs. Eye catching and very pricey. Love the DIY version, it suits my pocketbook so much better.
♥♥♥ your folded book decor & all the other treasures you added to them! You KNOW I'm going to copy this, don't you?! LOL
Sorry to hear you're having "tooth issues* as well. Mega Bummer!
Hoping it quiets down like mine has, FINALLY.
Hugs,
Rett
Hi, Char! I love the folded books...I've gone quite crazy with folding myself..and just recently finished some bird houses!! I am your newest follower and hope you will drop by and visit my blog when you have a minute!
