I love New York City but not today, Boston and the Commons must be beautiful today but nope not for me. Philadelphia really got hammered and as much as I love Philly Cheese stakes they just aren't that appealing if I have to trudge through more than a foot of snow just to find out that there is no power today and therefore no cheese steak.
Today if I could travel anywhere without thought of delays and being stuck on an interstate trying to get into the city where would I be?????
Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
I have never experienced such a moving and tranquil moment as being at Arlington after a snowstorm. It is without a doubt something you will never forget if you are ever lucky enough to find yourself amongst so many who gave their lives to protect us on a winters day.

Char, your pictures shown are indeed beautiful. I'm sure it would be a very moving experience to see this snowy scene in person.

Those photos are just beautiful. I've only been to Arlington in the spring and it was exremely emotional. I can only imagine what it must be like surrounded by snow and quiet.
beautiful photos. I think a world covered in snow just makes everything alright. I can imagine how moving it must have been to be there in such beauty and silence.
This is so beautiful. I know what you mean about the feeling you get when you are in a place like this. We were at Omaha Beach and Normandy on election day last November. It was very somber. You could feel the spirit of those young men. I will post about sometime. Hugs, Ginger
