Grace & Favor – A Life Worth Living

Preparing for a vacation. Oh the shopping, the packing, the lack of sleep the night before. I do travel more than the average person, mostly for business but many times I'll take advantage of a business trip location to spend a long weekend exploring different parts of the country. On those trips its the usual yada, yada, yada because I travel at least twice a month for business and even with the added little side trips its still nothing to loose sleep over. In a couple of weeks I'll leave for a wonderful relaxing week at a resort in Mexico. Second year in a row that one of my dearest friends has given me this opportunity at this particular location. Of all the places I've been to in Mexico this is my favorite by far. The first rule I have for anyone going to Mexico with me is ....... there are no rules. You do whatever you want and I'm going to do the same. No guilt, no discussion about leaving someone behind, just the bliss of knowing everyone is having a great time enjoying whatever it is that pleases them. Its wonderful to have friends and family who understand "rule number one". Its not that I don't enjoy exploring new places with friends, I usually travel with my three best travel friends at least a couple of times a year to do just that . Mexico however, is different. I've been to the ruins, snorkeled my little heart out, gone to Senor' Frogs, in other words...been there done that. My expectations for a Mexican vacation is to spend the day sitting at the pool with the cabana boy bringing me anything my heart desires, good conversation with my friends, family or anyone who is bored enough to listen to me and then a nice evening meal before turning in for the night. I'm not a night person, I enjoy reading in the evening before going to bed. The great thing about my Mexico companions is they understand rule number one and aren't offended by it. As I'm having a shower and settling in for the evening they have no guilty feelings about getting ready to go to one of the shows at the resort and enjoying an evening out. Paradise in my book.
